In our monthly feature, "Meet Your Instructor", we will spotlight a different YMCA aerobics instructor.  Get to know the ladies (and gentlemen) that make up the dynamic Thomasville YMCA group exercise team!!

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

AIM - Adults in motion!  An exercise class designed for those 55 years and up incorporating cardiovascular training, flexibility/strength, and balance.

Basic Step - The Aerobic class that has everyone in Step. It is both challenging and exciting.

Butt and Gut - 15 minutes butt and 15 minutes gut!

Guns and Gut- 15 minutes guns and 15 minutes gut!

Circuit -The class that will take care of it all.  You will keep your heart rate up while you alternate to a strengthening exercise.  The hour will fly by!

Cycling Circuit - If you want to burn calories, this is the class for you. You will alternate between heart pumping cardio and muscle pumping weight bearing activity.

Fit Kids - Now is the time to gear your kids up for a healthy lifestyle! This fitness class for ages 7-13yrs will do just that! They will learn the importance, safety, and fun of fitness all while being led through an energized class!

Spin - Join in for an exciting, high calorie burning advanced program that utilizes motivational techniques while cycling indoors.

Kickboxing - Aerobics workout that incorporates punches from boxing and kicks from Karate. You will burn mega calories.  Great for the beginner or the experienced.

Pilates - Improve flexibility & strength without building bulk. Beginners, advanced, those in rehab, & even expectant mothers participate in a series of controlled movements done in sequence.

Power Muscle - A revolutionary class exercise concept working every major muscle group in the body. It strengthens, conditions, tones, and defines muscles like nothing else. Appealing to men and women, it is “the Complete Athletic Workout.”

Pump Attack- a combination of Body Attack and Body Pump!

Silver Sneakers - Yes, we have a class for you!  This active older adult class will strengthen every muscle, including your heart, all in a chair!  You will work on flexibility, balance, and cardiovascular training.  Join in on the fun! 

Super Fit Bod- nonstop strength and cardio interval conditioning class that focuses on the entire body. Go big and get lean in this resistance heavy class.

Pre and Post Natal Class- 30 minutes of strength training, followed by 15 minutes of yoga and stretching

Yoga - This program incorporates the best of stretch, strength, and stabilization training. Exercises are designed to develop strength and flexibility to counter balance the stress of day to day life. 

Boot Camp - An intense 8 week work-out program. Maximize your strength, amplify your power, increase your speed, and improve your agility.

Body Attack -  The Les Mills® sports-inspired cardio workout for building strength and stamina. This high-energy interval training class combines athletic aerobic movements with strength and stabilization exercises.

Great Balls of Fun - Cardio using all varieties of balls. Fast paced, high energy, FUN!

Insanity Workout- Are you ready to dig deep? Push past your limits with plyometric drills on top of nonstop intervals of strength, power, resistance and ab & core training moves. This class instructed through a DVD.

Body Pump – The Les Mills® 60 minute workout that challenges all the major muscle groups by using the best weight room exercises like squats, presses, lifts and curls. Great for all levels!

Anything Goes - Anything goes in this class!

Zumba - One of the fastest growing dance based classes, Zumba fuses hypnotic Latin rhythm and easy to follow moves to create a dynamic fitness workout. You will experience an absolute blast in one exciting hour of calorie-burning, body-energizing, awe-inspiring movements meant to engage and captivate for life!

Zumba Gold - Designed for the active older adult, the true beginner, and/or people who are not used to exercising, or people who may be limited physically. Done at a lower intensity, not as fast, but it certainly is as much fun!

Atomic Zumba- Zumba for kids ages 4-12.

Aqua Zumba- a water based Zumba workout!
