Thanks to a balanced operational structure that allows the YMCA of Thomasville to offset fundraising expenses with revenues from membership and programs fees, 100% of contributed dollars go directly to their intended purposes. The structure has been one of the organization’s greatest strengths since the Y’s founding in Thomasville in 1903.
We believe in meaningful change
The YMCA policy is that no child, adult or family is turned away for inability to pay. We provide financial aid to over thousands of people a year. When you give to the Y you become part of the fabric of the community through:
- Three branches that serve diverse communities with diverse programs, from free after school mentorship to ensuring no child goes hungry during the summer.
- Partnerships with several key organizations throughout the community, including schools, the hospital and numerous other not for profits.
- Thousands of children who each year are part of programs as diverse as youth sports, healthy eating, swimming, fit kids, and more
- More than 140 classes every week in which our 9,000 members work toward a healthy life, in fitness classes.
